Though couples may appoint the Civil Celebrants () for the marriage since 2006 April, most of the couples still like having their ceremony in the Government Marriage Registry. In order to having ceremony in the Government Marriage Registry, couples need to make the appointment first. The appointment can be booked online without any charges (http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/eservices_3.htm). However, since each marriage registry has limited capacity, usually on the auspicious date, all appointments will be fully booked within seconds. This is not exaggeration.
We know that you may already reserved your banquet, make-up artist, AV team well before the appointment booking date. Changing the date of banquet may not be feasible and even all relatives/helpers may also request one more day-off for the change of ceremony date. It may have big impact to our wedding plan if the appointment cannot be made. We suggest the following ways to increase the chance to secure the date.
- Invite more friends to do the appiontment at the same time - The appointment system will use the ID number (Travel document number) to ensure no duplicate bookings exist. And the system is running as first-come-first served basis, more helpers doing the appointment booking will increase the chance of getting good tag.
- Recruit professional to assist the appointment booking. - In order to have One Perfect Wedding (sm), having the ceremony on a chosen date is the beginning. Thus, HotoHoto has invested a vast amount to develop a system only for the appointment booking. This is one of the most recognized service of HotoHoto. It is famous because of its promising result and with the tag ganrantee service. To learn more about HotoHoto Booking, click here.
- Use the phone booking also. Not only the internet booking (tips - download section)
- Ask for civil celebrants for backup - before the appointment booking, try to seek information of the civil celebrants appointment. in case you cannot get the satisfactory tag, appoint the civil celebrant maybe your second choice.
